November 23, 2009 (Chicago) – Sam Kain has been named the 2009 Land REALTOR of America by the REALTORS Land Institute, a national membership organization serving the leading professionals in land.
Kain has been an area sales manager with Farmers National Company of West Des Moines, Iowa, since 1990 and is licensed in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Highly respected on both the local and national levels, Kain holds the prestigious Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation, conferred to only those land professionals who achieve the highest levels of education and experience.
The Land REALTOR of America distinction is extended annually to a land professional who has demonstrated exceptional professionalism in real estate, an outstanding commitment to the REALTORS Land Institute (RLI) organization, and distinguished track record of community service.
The award was presented to Kain at the REALTORS Land Institute’s Annual Convention, which was held in San Diego in conjunction with the National Association of REALTORS Annual Conference & Expo.
Keith Morris, ALC and 2009 National President of RLI, presented the award to Kain. During his remarks, Morris said, “Sam is highly regarded among brokers and the general public for his principles and his commitment to the REALTOR Code of Ethics. In his daily work recruiting and training the sales staff for his company and monitoring and managing the real estate activity of 45 agents, he consistently emphasizes the importance of high ethical standards.”
An Accredited Land Consultant for 15 years, Kain has held all national officer positions in the REALTORS Land Institute (RLI), including the national presidency in 2005. He has been a member of the Iowa RLI Chapter since 1991, serving as president from 1998-1999. In 2001 he received the chapter's top honor, the Farm and Land Broker of the Year award. In addition, he is an approved Land University instructor who consistently earns on high marks on his students’ evaluation forms.
With regard to civic participation, he is a 3rd degree Mason, has served as president of his homeowner's association, and is a member of the sponsoring committee of the Future Farmers of America Foundation.
Currently, Kain is serving on the Iowa’s RLI Chapter’s ALC/Convention Committee, the Central States MLS Committee, and the Education Committee. In addition, this year he is chairing the chapter’s Membership and Promotion Committee. His continued service to his chapter provides a role model for volunteerism in RLI activities.
In addition to his involvement in his state chapter and national RLI, Kain has been active in the Des Moines Area Association of REALTORS since 1984. He has served on many committees, including the Professional Standards Committee, and is a long-term RPAC supporter. He is also involved in the Iowa Association of REALTORS, for which he currently serves on the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Legislative Committee.
