The National Association of REALTORS has submitted a letter to Henry M. Paulson, Secretary of the Treasury, recommending Realtor members, both residential and commercial, for their expertise and knowledge in assisting with the newly formed Troubled Asset Recovery Program (TARP).
The letter highlights the value of utilizing NAR's affiliate members, all who hold specialized commercial designations--including the Accredited Land Consultant designation--as well as NAR's residential practitioners, to the extent that local market knowledge and relationships provide for greater access to buyers and a more efficient disposition at the best possible price. The letter states that NAR members offer the Secretary and the TARP administrators valuable experts whose training, ethical standards, and background uniquely qualify them for a role in assisting the TARP with the acquisition and disposition of assets secured by real property.
